Webster County Schools has received two (2) K-3 Reading Diagnostic and Interventions grants for $40,000 each from the Kentucky Department of Education. The Reading Diagnostic and Intervention fund was created to help teachers and library media specialists improve the reading skills of struggling readers in kindergarten through grade three (3).

The funding for Providence Elementary and Sebree Elementary supports teachers in implementing an evidence-based reading intervention program emphasizing phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and making connections between writing and reading acquisition. In addition, both grants provide funding for high-quality instructional resources and professional learning for teachers using diagnostic and intervention instructional resources. A total of 100 Kentucky schools received funding.
